i fell through the ice
i tried to say i couldn't slip
but you had your hands over your ears
for the life of me
i can't forget how cold it was

i put my hands over my face now
and i can't feel my eyes
i'm wearing this disguise
that makes it impossible to
look at me from one side
without feeling like a corpse
while feeling like a heavy horse

i've been screaming pretty loud this winter
it probably doesn't help
that it's cold inside of my lungs
when i breathe air out
along comes a bunch of fish
they swam inside my soul
and i guess they wanted out
because my heart isn't a
big enough bowl

tomorrow i'll be vandalized
for the rest of all time
i'll be stuck on my insides

it's crazy you know
these lights
and your shoes
flickering and running
all day
through my mind
melting onto my spine

if i don't scratch i cry
the sounds have got me tied
together
maybe not forever
but i try
they try

the clock never shows
the right time
because in my mind
there's nothing really defined
and when
i start to dry
the cracks start to align
