eyes like poppy seeds
mouths like milkweed
are here for a day
slowing the pace down
right there under your blanket
vibrating so fast
no one can fix the beautiful things
that make em' calm enough
to not mind

i'm surrounded by walls with holes
poking profusely at my face
telling me to look through them

i'm sleeping on a pile of
nine inch nails that are
getting duller every time
my back touches the points

i'm looking at a face so perfect
every time i go to touch it
i'm afraind of smudging your skin

i'm living in a dream so colorful
that only a gray sky makes everything
real seem poignant

i'm touching everything so closely
i know my fingers are rough enough
to grasp onto everything
i don't intend on losing

this is what i've realized
this is what i love
and this is what i promise

falling from the earth
like you just got hit
by a baseball bat
(you flew)

eat your apples

lifting off the surface
like you just forgot
where your feet
were supposed to be

save your apples

listening to everything
as if you never wanted
words to enter your
ear canal unless they sounded
at least as sweet
as green apples

please love the apples
