follow the way

The sun has teeth
that take bites out of
our skin.
forever in the winter,
always in the summer.
you can't fade the marks,
don't attempt to.

Every last scar will open
and unleash everything
inside of us until the last
one stays and watches
the sun go down,
fall to the ground,
painting every unknown surface
a dull yellow.

we don't have a grip

I wonder what it'd be like
to swim through a pond
full of souls.
Pick one out from under your
belly and keep it, forever.
I can imagine the "pain" but I
don't care about the "game".

You know it's going to die...
what do you do?,
who do you give it to?

Time will only tell me what I'll lose and what I'll gain but you know I never wear a watch so I'll just sit here and then sit there and eventually rot only for you to find my skeleton sitting up in a chair. In my own mind, nobody will have ever told me to move.
