subconscious
incoherently.

in the sunset
i watched the
world spiral
and i get it.

when i was walking i found
that i was no longer behind me;
i was no longer there, where
behind me now currently is,
i was currently in front of where
i was before. and can't quite
remember what it was like to be
there as clearly as i can now
remember or feel being here.

some shocks stuttered somewhere
skull bound synapses snapped in shape

gods hands wrapped around a raindrop
somewhere in michigan
where the pavement is
as black as the sky

and inside

the gentle chill of an open window
prompts a lover to look outside
and watch baby raindrop knock
against the window pane

and inside

there are soldiers fighting a civil war
of north versus south
of leave versus stay
one day to be a lifeless body

and inside

cells divide and multiply
writing the first letters of a book
to be read until it is closed
only one time to be remembered.
