my heart lives in apartment building a1
it is large and made out of bricks and stones
building a1 is the only building in the complex
and plastic covers everything.

all the other tenants are choking from the
plastic covered walls and windows and
sometimes my heart leaves notes on their
doors that they are to never read.

yours says don't breath until i ask
yours says your rent has never been payed
yours says don't take the plastic off
yours says you are my shadow
and mine says this is a place where you die alone.

so i hear god and the sun haven't talked in years
and she is resting on his giant cold shoulders
she rises every day, but he is never there
and she wonders why he's still there to hold her

it is dark in the universe
very dark and cold
and if the sun wasn't hot
i think she'd freeze

if he were better at origami she'd be made out of paper
and even though they sleep in the same bed
he doesn't seem to notice that she's ever really there
i guess this all makes sense in his insane head
