it's easy to hide
behind all the lies
the blue behind
the clouds in the sky
it's easy to hide
when nothing is fine
all bottled inside
deep down and denied

it's so easy to be
inside of me
the fish in a sea
all polluted and deep
it's easy to scream
something obscene
to make them believe
there's something you need

one time i read
a joke all
sarcastic and dead
it fell out of my head
so i picked up my pen
the ink was all red
just like you said
so i wrote it in blue

on a ledge
staring at the ocean
somewhere
far away from
somewhere
her gray breast
lay supple atop
the waves
heaving with the
salty breathes of
the ocean
and as she melted
away the sun
shot him
in the face.

the red replaced the gray
beauty of the morning sky
and sat juxtaposed atop the
endlessly black ocean.

felt like the wind
tickled some notion
behind his mind
to let his weight
shift and fall
newborn into the
cold embrace
of the endlessly
black ocean
and sometimes
he did.

i have a warm bed
but my feet hang off the edge
sometimes i hear the distance cry
like some tainted lullaby
and it hurts.

i'm at a train station
playing tug-of-war with impatience
sometimes i hear it coming
but it's probably just storming
and it hurts.
