the highway traffic

don't believe the hype
on the television screen

garage sale sign on
my brand new head
long pause before the
great withdrawal
lighting up a midnight
sky with a human powered
heart

don't believe the grapes
shouting on the vine

laughing pretty loudly
in anatomy class, with
my pencil on the table
taking notes with my laughs
i am swallowing down
your hallways and
rejecting the subtle surgery
there is no billboard perfection
and that is what occurred to me.
